The "mini" size (06216C) is commonly used for optimist main sheets, to allow fast removal for easy towing.

The medium (06216D) is vastly the popular unit for sheets, halyards or even simply snap hooking the dinghy on.

Mini: 35mm long, 25mm wide

Medium: 70mm long, 50mm wide

Though the breaking strains look high most halyards come in for shock loadings.

Never go aloft in the snap shackle, always tie the rope directly on to your bosuns chair or harness.

We recommend the small snap hook for most size trailer yachts, while medium is best with most vessels to around 34' and large for vessels to approximately 52'.
